A little bit about me - I'm the Emilie in Emilie Duncan Event Planning. I have been planning weddings and events for over twelve years and I truly cannot imagine doing anything else! I certainly didn't start my career in the wedding industry - I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Merchandising Management and went to work in the world of retail buying. I worked in the home offices of several national retailers and loved what I did but in the back of my mind knew it wasn't what I wanted to do forever. Finally, in early 2004, after much research and study, I decided to transition to weddings and events and founded Emilie Duncan Event Planning. I've served on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Chapter of International Live Events Association (ILEA). I am a distinguished graduate of ABC's professional development program, earning the title of Professional Bridal Consultant (tm). My firm belief in continuing education and desire to raise the bar of professionalism in the Columbus area also lead me to co-found Wedding Skills Workshop, a series of educational workshops and seminars for wedding vendors and brides. I suppose the most important thing you should know is that I still get giddy when a new client trusts me to help them write the first page of their new shared history and I consider it an honor to be part of every wedding that I plan and coordinate!
