James Godsil founded Community Roofing & Restoration as “Community Roofing Collective” in 1975 when he left a career in academia as a teacher at Alverno College and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Godsil made the career transition from academics to roofing and restoration contractor in an effort to better support his child and provide for his family.
He founded the roofing company with a vision to “build a network of self-managed artisan shops that worked together freely in collaboration.” His goal was to renew the city of Milwaukee while maintaining the historical significance of older buildings. Godsil eventually handed over the reins to Josh Fraundorf several years ago. Fraundorf is currently the managing owner. Josh Sparks, owner of Infinity Exteriors, got his start roofing shortly after graduating high school, leaving his “lucrative” position at McDonald’s to work with a good friend at a roofing company before going off to college in the fall. He started like everyone else; by cleaning up the grounds. As the summer went on, he worked his way up the ladder to become a shingler,’ and eventually foreman. Before leaving college, Josh started handing out flyers to do his own work to make some extra tuition money, and thus Infinity Exteriors was born.
After joining the Marine Corps, where he learned invaluable leadership skills which he would bring to Infinity, Josh returned to his reserve post here in Milwaukee and started working hard at growing the business. His wife, MaryJean, came on board and business began booming.
From the beginning, Infinity Exteriors dedicated itself to providing the highest level roofing service in Southeastern Wisconsin. This means instead of taking winters off like most Milwaukee roofing contractors, we are doing research and learning more about how to give our customers the greatest possible value.
