Human beings are deeply affected by the aesthetics around us. When our surroundings are customized perfectly for us, we thrive. In other words, good design makes life better.
As a team, our strength lies in our ability to hold fast to each client’s vision for the duration of a project, through every stage, and in the face of every challenge. Good interior design often looks effortless, but behind the scenes, a great deal of effort is poured into every selection, drawing and detail.
Finding balance, understanding the art and science of what pleases the eye, and taking the psychology of what is being asked of us into account are all components of the everyday decisions we make as designers. Technical skill and creativity are required in equal measure to deliver a true sense of place, function & aesthetic.
We specialize in commercial and residential interior design of varying sizes and scopes, working on everything from new construction projects, existing spaces in need of reworking and refinement to furnishings and window treatments. Our team has an aptitude for delivering sophisticated elegance, and blending form and function without sacrificing comfort or livability.
No two projects are alike, and we prefer it that way. We work collaboratively on each project, bringing multiple perspectives into balance and ensuring a deeply considered result. For each one, it’s critical that we understand the client’s vision thoroughly, and then draw upon our aesthetic ability, project management experience and strong relationships with builders, craftspeople, artisans and other talented partners to execute the vision seamlessly.
We don’t just create great spaces; we exceed expectations and always strive to overdeliver artistry and value. Every detail that matters to you, matters even more to us. Our clients are our greatest inspiration and we’re here to make life better by improving the environment around them.
We Make Living Beautiful.

In 1921, Albert Hugo stepped off the train in Jacksonville for a layover as he headed toward south Florida. As the train went further south, the scenery began to look as if he were heading into the Amazon... and beyond civilization. Albert headed back to Jacksonville where he spent the rest of his life. Trained in his native Germany as a "tapezierer" - Albert was a decorator skilled at paper hanging, cabinet making, upholstery and other crafts. Albert married his wife Euna, who had been a hat maker before her marriage. As Albert designed interiors, built and upholstered furniture, Euna would sew beautiful and elaborate window treatments. Albert and Euna set up shop in the dock house of Arthur and Ninah Cummer’s English Tudor Revival mansion on Riverside Avenue. He trades their furnishings expertise for workspace to begin Albert Hugo and Associates. His clients grow to include other internationally known families such as Alfred and Jessie duPont. The Hugo family continues to meet the duPont’s furnishings and fabric needs inside their remarkable 58-acre mansion, Epping Forest, now Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club. As Albert Hugo Associates expands, they move to the present Philips Highway site in 1947. Together they served many of Jacksonville's prominent families.
In 1947, Albert and Euna Hugo moved their business to Philips Highway, where it is still located. Their sons, Edward and Charles, took over the business as Albert retired. Following in their footsteps at Albert Hugo Associates were sons Edward and Charles. Grandson Richard, trained in furniture styles, periods, and the use of color and textiles, took over. Then came his children, Mathew, Jennie, John, and Paul – the 4th generation.
Today, Hugo’s Interiors maintains its leadership role in providing fine design in home furnishings and accessories for people with discerning tastes interested in new trends in furniture, fabric, and accessories. The Hugo Family looks forward to its young 5th generation continuing as purveyors of taste, quality furnishings, and beautiful accessories.
Today, it is quite possible, even probable, that the grandchildren and great grandchildren of Albert Hugo are serving the future generations of Hugo's first customers.

Providing Interior Design and Decorating services for home and commercial projects of all shapes and sizes for over 20 years in Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, Amelia Island and greater Jacksonville areas!
Amanda can best be described as a bubbly version of the Energizer bunny. No one quite knows how she functions on such little sleep while still maintaining toned biceps, a fierce addiction to thrifting and of course, her sanity. Just in case this whole design-thing doesn’t work out, she also moonlights as an Uber driver… for her teenagers.
It was once noted that Lee Webster is “… a stylish visionary with a proclivity for making friends wherever he goes.” This statement still holds true today… mostly because it was written just now.
I believe that great design balances a person’s wants and needs in a way that is both inviting and inspiring. It should never be approached with a "one size fits all" mentality but instead, with a willingness and desire to mine through endless possibilities and choices to find that perfect harmony between form and function. This is where truly beautiful designs are discovered.
My job is to direct and steer the process in a way that does not dictate your style, but helps to articulate and achieve your desires. I thrive on the challenge of taking your design tastes, vision, and budget and translating these into something remarkable and personal. The end result is uniquely inspired interiors that come to fruition through our partnership!
Sure, we have won numerous awards and been published in many magazines, but accolades are fleeting. I do this because I am passionate about creating beautiful, enduring homes that are comfortable and inviting and truly embrace your lifestyle. And of course, the best and most gratifying part of my job, is when I receive emails and letters like this…

I’ve been an artist since childhood. In 2000 my love for creating evolved into designing my first client’s home in Atlanta. What started as a part time passion has turned into my Design + Build + Interiors company today. We now work with clients all over Florida, from Jacksonville to the Florida Keys!
What brought us to today’s business was the recognition that the most beautiful, most efficiently managed remodeled homes had fewer hand offs between the Designers, Contactors and Sub-Contractors. So in 2020, I became a certified Residential Contractor! The integration of this service to my Interior Design business allows my clients access to amazingly unique materials and furnishings, along with providing a single point of contact to manage the remodel of their home. From kitchens and baths, up to remodeling, designing and decorating your entire home!
Today, my husband Jim and I, work with a team of expert trade craftsmen, artists, wood workers and fellow creators, to make your home something truly exceptional.
I take immense pride in working with clients to guide them on the exhilarating journey of creating a beautiful, functional home that will stand the test of time, and give great joy to family and friends!
