In the fall of 1908, a Russian immigrant named Sam HUPPIN opened a humble tailor shop in downtown Spokane, WA. Upon his death in 1922, the shop passed to his teenage son, Abe HUPPIN. As the years progressed, Abe and his brother Big Sam transitioned the store into a pawnbroker. During World War II, HUPPIN’s added military insignia to their inventory while continuing to sell stylish men’s clothing and luggage a few years later.
