Knowing what to expect, now, and later. The absence of family conflicts. Confidence that everything was done right. All of these are the benefits of our planning.
People often believe that “ESTATE PLANNING” is only for the wealthy, but this could not be further from the truth. In fact, it is often more important for persons who are not so wealthy to have a plan. Your estate is simply the property you own when you pass away; and an estate plan ensures that this property is distributed according to your wishes once you are gone.
A typical estate plan consists of a will, durable power of attorney, medical power of attorney, health information release, declaration of guardian, and directive to physicians (aka a living will), and everyone over the age of 18 should have one. It is truly one of the best gifts you can give your family. Your estate plan provides a roadmap for honoring your wishes, and will save your family the financial and emotional expense of trying to navigate without one.
Weisinger Law Firm is not just another San Antonio-based law firm that focuses on estate planning, probate, and guardianship. We take the time to get to know you, as well as your objectives and needs so that we can develop a comprehensive plan that works specifically for you. We make the estate planning process as easy and stress-free as possible. We also hope to create a lifelong relationship so that no matter what happens, your family will know where to turn and you know your family will be taken care of.
If you have a child or family member with special needs, specific planning is necessary to ensure that they are protected should something happen to you. Traditional gifting of money or property to a person with special needs can cause more harm than good. If you are thinking of leaving assets meant to benefit a person with special needs, contact us to make sure the items are left in a Special Needs Trust to benefit the person as you intend.

Attorney James (Jim) Cramp knew when he left military service that he wanted to continue to help the people and families who serve our country. After wearing a military uniform for nearly 30 years, he couldn’t imagine no longer being a part of that community. That’s why the Cramp Law Firm, PLLC focuses on serving the legal needs of military and federal civil service families.
Jim’s ability to bring his personal experiences and legal training together make him one of the most well-respected, sought-after military divorce and Federal Civil Service divorce attorneys in Texas. Clients stationed around the globe seek him out, and other divorce attorneys regularly send him cases they think are “too complicated” because one or more parties involved serves in the military or works for the federal government.
Jim's commitment to the families he represents is evident in every aspect of his legal expertise. His in-depth understanding of family dynamics, coupled with his intricate knowledge of the law, enables him to vigorously represent both military and civilian clients.
"During the worse of times, he makes the D word less stressful. It was smooth, stress free and so convenient with the online ability to get and receive paperwork. He has a warm personality, a great knowledge of the laws, and sense of humor. He laughed at my jokes. Eileen is the most awesome person from the moment I called looking for an attorney to walking me through the process and hearing me vent during stressful moments. I am forever grateful to this team." - Nina H

The San Antonio Estate Planners Council as an unincorporated association in 1958. The Council was incorporated in 1964 under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act.
The Bylaws provide that the Board of Governors must consist of sixteen (16) members and four (4) nominated officers from each of the four designated groups (disciplines) comprising the Council. The four (4) officers of the Council are elected annually. The Bylaws provide that no two officers shall be from the same discipline so that at all times one of the officers is a representative of each of the four designated groups. It is traditional that the Presidency of the Council is rotated each year among the four disciplines.
To our website. Our plans include many new and exciting opportunities for our members to gain more from membership in the San Antonio Estate Planners Council.
First and foremost, we plan to utilize the Internet to send our meeting notices to those members who have e-mail addresses and by fax to those who would so prefer. And since banks frown on accepting checks by fax or e-mail, we now accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express for meeting charges on our website.
Now, look at all the buttons. They will give you many sources for information and forums. Here is an explanation of each.

Many people think that they must have a large estate in order to make an estate plan worthwhile, but crafting an estate plan can be useful for anyone. There are certain documents that an estate planning attorney can help you create to ensure that your estate is distributed in the manner that you wish. These include a will, a statutory durable power of attorney, a medical power of attorney, and a health care directive to a physician. There are many other documents that you can draft to set up your estate and numerous options regarding leaving assets to children, grandchildren, and other individuals. If you want to learn more about tax advantages, an estate planning attorney at our San Antonio firm can explain how setting up certain instruments like a trust can relieve tax burdens and help pass the maximum amount of assets possible to your beneficiaries.
In general, probate is the legal process that is required when an individual dies in order to transfer the decedent’s assets. Probate does not apply to all estates, therefore it is important to first determine whether an estate must go through the probate process. In general, Texas requires real estate, vehicles, and bank accounts without a designated beneficiary to pass through the probate process.

I am an Estate Planning & Probate Attorney in San Antonio, Texas, where I provide legal services to families in San Antonio and the surrounding Texas Hill County. I help people who need to get their affairs in order by designing a comprehensive estate plan that is custom-tailored to the needs of their family. Not only do my clients achieve peace of mind knowing that they are protected in the event of their incapacity, but they are also comforted by the fact that their assets will be easily and promptly distributed to their loved ones after they have passed.
I graduated from the George Washington University Law School and started my legal career in Washington, D.C., where I worked in the U.S. House of Representatives on Capitol Hill. I began to focus my career solely on estate planning after the unexpected death of my father, and the devastating aftermath that resulted from problems with his will.
I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Section, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council. I am licensed to practice law in all courts in Texas. I enjoy traveling and I also enjoy watching the San Antonio Spurs “Race for Seis” with my husband.
I believe my client service is just as important as my legal competence. I know that an attorney’s office can be a bit frightening and myself and my staff go out of our way to create a warm, family atmosphere. We strive always to exemplify the Golden Rule and to treat our clients as we would like to be treated ourselves. We genuinely care about our clients, and our attitude reflects that.
