Our hospital was founded in 1986 by Dr. Orlando Garza with the ultimate goal of providing compassionate, quality care to the El Paso community and surrounding areas. With many ranches and large animals in our rural areas, Dr. Garza decided to also extend his practice to include farm-calls and mobile vaccination clinics.
The current facility was built in 2015 to include a large and comfortable waiting room with children’s play area, 5 treatment rooms and 2 surgical rooms. Appointments are HIGHLY recommended. We only take walk-ins on a space available basis and space is not always available. We do not accept walks ins for cat grooming.
Grooming doesn't happen like most people think. If a dog came in and was washed, dried, and styled back to back, our groomers would only be able to complete 3-4 dogs per day. Instead, appointments are staggered so as one dog dries, our groomers can work on other dogs. By using this method, groomers can accomodate more customers. It does not always take four hours, but during our busy times, or your dog is in horrible condition, has a lot of excess fur, or if you are requesting de-shed or de-skunk services, please allow them the full time. Rushing leads to ugly haircuts. If you need your dog back quicker, check out our Express Service.
If your dog is being boarded and getting groomed prior to pick up, we will have them ready by the time you requested when making your reservation. If no time was listed, then we will call you when your dog is ready. If you didn't list a time and you just show up to get your pup, there is a good chance your dog will not be done, so please either list a time or wait for our call.
A mat fee occurs when you have not been maintaining your dogs coat at home. If your dog has long hair, it requires brushing just like ours. If you do not brush them, it tangles. When these tangles get too large to brush out, these are called mats. Mats require either extensive brushing with special tools, or additional care to have them removed. There is almost always irritation and skin issues after removal.
Sometimes. If you no-show for any cat grooming appointment, a Saturday grooming appointment, or if you book multiple dog appointments for the same day and then no show we may require a deposit. We will also require a deposit if you have a habit of booking appointments and then changing them last minute. This is our groomers income and no-shows/late changes affect their income.
