As safety is our top priority, every dog in the facility is required to have an online profile and pass a Meet and Greet day. Meet and Greets can be scheduled Monday - Saturday with set drop-off appointment times. I believe that pet grooming is an art. I have been grooming since 2001, but as with any groomer, my years of experience can be just a number. You need to have a natural ability or artistic eye that can be enhanced by grooming schools or on job training. I learned techniques and skills early on, from years of personal training, in order to provide quality and safe grooming that reduce stress on pets and their groomers.
I believe that each dog is distinct. Pets have different personalities and temperaments that need to be accommodated. I believe in continuous education. I believe in continuous education. While I was a grooming manager at a well-known big box retailer, I started my undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting. I chose to unify my knowledge and love of working with animals, along with the art of grooming. Additionally, I attend dog shows, and have set up informational sessions with veterinarians to obtain knowledge on pet care and techniques. I intend to continue my education in the grooming industry regarding safety and styling.
I believe in giving back. As a child, I spent my summers on farms spending countless hours with animals and nature. I am thrilled to be able to spend time taking care of animals while reducing my environmental impact when possible. My other interests include: hiking, gardening, carpentry, and fishing.

Depending on the breed, age and health of the dog, grooming may be a daily activity. Many breeds require significantly less grooming than this, but regular grooming helps to ensure the dog is healthy and comfortable. It is important to note, while many dogs shed, others such as the Poodle, do not shed (see Moult). Instead, their coat grows much like human hair, and requires trimming. The main reasons for daily grooming include:
- Iproved health of the skin and coat
- Decreases the chance of various health problems such as thrush, scratches, and other skin problems
- Cleans the dog
- Allows the groomer to check the dog’s health, such as looking for cuts, heat, swelling, lameness, or a change in temperament (such as depression) which could indicate the dog is sick

Different States and Cities have varying definitions for a master groomer. It starts with the training. Kevin’s training first took place in Rock Springs, WY. as his teachers only student in 1983. For the first three months, Kevin observed grooming techniques on poodles and cocker spaniels. He also invested much of his time in watching grooms being done on various show dogs before he completed his first groom, to help enhance his skills. After completing a year and a half of training, Kevin opened his first grooming shop in 1985 called Kevin’s Poodle Parlor.
Training 25 years ago is nothing like it is today, which only took six weeks to complete. Kevin takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows in the final results. “A good grooming experience starts with the groomer and their ability to help your pet feel relaxed and comfortable.” (Kevin)

I’ve worked with animals all of my life. Through school I volunteered at shelters and helped groom the adoptable pets. This experience gave me a lot of insight into how important it is to groom your animals on a regular basis. Upon moving to Colorado I studied and worked as a veterinary technician. I turned to grooming because it offered me the most interaction with animals, and a more enjoyable environment.
