We are providing phone and/or video consultations for all patients in place of in-office appointments when appropriate. In many cases, we can make a diagnosis over the phone and through video conferencing and prescribe medication if needed by sending prescriptions directly to your pharmacy. Dr. Kirby Kavanaugh, BA/DDS, has been practicing dentistry for over 26 years in the Northland. Her practice has been in Zona Rosa since November 2005. Dr. Kavanaugh was born and raised in Gladstone, Missouri and comes from a dental family background, as her father and brother are well-respected orthodontists in the Northland. Her mother was an amazing woman who taught Dr. Kavanaugh her softer, gentler side. A song that she likes to listen to because it reminds her of her mom is “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler.
Dr. Kavanaugh graduated with honors from Oak Park High School and attended the University of Missouri’s six year accredited dental program. She graduated from dental school in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts/Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Kavanaugh is a member of many professional organizations, including the Park Hill School District Parent Teacher Association, Northland BNI 1, and the Harvest Ball Society which raise monies for charities in the Northland. Heartland Outreach Providers started the HOPE Dental program in 2011 to help provide for the oral health needs of underserved children in Jackson County, Missouri. The program helps ensure access to basic dental care. In order to effectively provide this service, a mobile dentistry service was established to examine and treat elementary school age children at their school. This strategy has proven successful in overcoming barriers of lack of transportation, parental time constraints, language differences, and cost of dental service that prevented many children from receiving proper dental care. HOPE Dental continues to partner with the Kansas City, Hickman Mills and Blue Springs school districts to serve hundreds of children each year.
The HOPE Dental program has added seniors to the dental care program through partnerships with area senior living facilities. HOPE Dental is now also serving patients at mental health facilities in Jackson County. In 2015, a permanent clinic was established in Blue Springs which serves additional children and adults not seen at partner facilities.
Donations from individuals help HOPE Dental serve Medical eligible area residents and more children who have no dental insurance and may have never seen a dentist. A donation of $99 covers the average cost of one child receiving a dental examination, cleaning and needed treatment (eg fillings, sealants, tooth extraction, etc).

Dr. Perry was born and raised in the near the Plaza in Kansas City. He attended Rockhurst High School and then the University of Missouri-Columbia on the C.O.P.S. Police Survivors Scholarship. The scholarship was established for the surviving children of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, in honor of his father’s service to the KCMO police department. He earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri- Kansas City in 2004. Again, he received an academic scholarship during dental school from the American College of Dentists, for exemplifying excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society.
Dr. Perry is a member of the American Dental Association and Missouri Dental Association. Dr. Perry has volunteered his skills through service and outreach in multiple outlets including the MDA’s Missouri Mission of Mercy, UMKC’s Dental Care with a Heart, Dental outreach to Venezuelan orphanage, Hope House dental service volunteering, and he was even featured on KCTV-5 Problem Solvers giving a KC woman back her smile! An active supporter of JDRF, Dr. Perry, and his family organize the Parkville Colour Run to help raise over $15,000 for Type 1 Diabetes research.
Dr. Perry is happily married to his college sweetheart, Sara, from Mizzou. They have two beautiful children and dog, Ace. Dr.P loves spending time with his family and traveling. He loves kids and has enjoyed coaching YMCA basketball and NSA soccer teams! Family travels have taken him all over. Whether it is practicing his Spanish in Mexico or being inspired by the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore, Dr. P proudly displays his Royals cap! He enjoys visiting other places but relishes returning home to his beloved Kansas City, MO.
